The Pools Casino Review

Closed The Pools removed casino games and sports betting on 15th June 2026. While you can still access the site and the Jackpot section is active, it's fair to say that their Casino part is shut down all but in name. There is no sister site, but you can still find many alternatives in the UK.

The Pools casino scores 3.34 out of 5.00 in LyzeScore™, but the brand removed both casino games and sportsbook on 15th June 2026. While the Jackpot section remains, we recommend finding an alternative from our new casino list.

The Pools scores 2.86 out of 5 on our rating scale by the team but that doesn't neccesarily mean it isn't for you. It depends what you are looking for.

Across most areas of the site, we'd describe the offering as an average one. There are then a couple of components that step away from that "middling" benchmark.

The first is the game library. With around 1,200 games on offer - and only 45 in the live casino - it is someway off the pace, compared to a lot of other casinos on the market. This is one aspect that sees the overall score dragged down. The other, is the customer support. What is offered is solid enough but no telephone number and no human support on offer 24/7 falls below what many brands offer in 2026.

It isn't all bad though. The RTP, for example, which is an important metric for a lot of casino players, comes in at a handsome 95.66%. That is comfortably above average.

The Pools Casino Overview

First things first, The Pools casino looks really smart. It's stripped back, with a white base that then sees splashes of aqua and bold black lettering to clearly outline different options and sections of the site. "Clean" is probably the word we'd use if describing the look and feel in a solitary word.

That continues across the game library too, game tiles are large. They are easy to read and slick to interact with.

The game library isn't the most extensive in the world either. It only boasts around 1,200 games. This isn't a pathetic amount by any stretch but it is well off being market leading.

  • RTP Profiling

On the bright side, the RTP of the games is strong. Our tests put it at 95.66%. That is above average relative to other casino operators.

  • Game Navigation

Unfortunately, you run into some inconsistencies around navigation. One the casino landing page, the top master menu is a horizontal, scrollable panel. The games under each sub-heading are explored in the same way - with the swipe of a finger.

Weirdly, though, other game menus aren't scrollable. They're limited to the width of the page meaning you read two category options before being forced to use a dropdown selector for "More". It just takes away a little bit of intuitiveness from the navigation.

And game search was only possible by game name with no advanced filters like volatility level and feature.

The Pools Sign up Bonus & Casino Promotions

  • Free to Play

The Pools offers a unique "Free to Play" feature that is not available with other brands.

Unlike standard free-play games, Free to Play becomes available to The Pools customers providing they have placed a cash stake within the last seven days.

Providing you meet that criteria, you can play a number of different games that have rewards attached to them, which can include free spins and substantial cash prizes.

4:45 Club Loyalty Program

The Pools offers a membership program called the "4:45 Club". Underneath this headline naming convention there are then three branches you can join:

  • Goal Rush
  • Classic Pools
  • Lucky Clover

Each membership is slightly different but each operates under a similar structure. You will pay a monthly subscription fee, which varies by which program you opt for.

Within each of the programs you are buying access to a specific type of gambling - pools, sports or lottery - with various tiers of reward on offer if you win.

Beyond the specific subscription you pay, all 4:45 Club members are also able to join perks. These include exclusive promotions, free bets and weekly rewards.

You will also have Club 4:45 sign up bonuses, which vary based on the specific subscription you take on.

The Pools Payment Methods

The Pools approach to banking is somewhat mixed.

On one hand, deposits are fee free and come with low minimum requirements of just £5. On the other hand, the actual payment methods available are very limited.

You can only deposit to your account via debit card - Visa and Mastercard - and PayPal. Both of these options are widely used, which means most punters will be able to deposit with The Pools without too many issues.

That said, in 2026 most bettors do expect to see a stronger range of banking methods. The absence of Apple Pay and Google Pay, respectively, is an obvious miss, whilst options like Skrill are also fairly commonplace.

The Pools Mobile App

The Pools have been quite active in talking up the development of a mobile app being offered to punters.

As of September 2026 though, The Pools mobile app is not available in the UK.

Whilst it is expected to come soon, you can still enjoy the experience on a mobile device courtesy of the internet browser on your phone.

Your starting place for any customer service queries at The Pools is through the "Help Centre". This is an extensive FAQ section, which is cleanly displayed and goes beyond just listing out an array of questions. All told, there are 12 different categories, offering up close to 120 different help articles.

Despite having an extensive self-help options, there are still three further support avenues you can explore. You have the ability to utilise a 24/7 chatbot, can speak with a human operator via live chat, which is open between 08:30 and 22:00 Monday to Saturday and 12:00 - 22:00 on Sundays, or exchange emails with the customer service team.

Whilst these options are good to have, The Pools does not offer any avenue for picking up the phone to have an actual conversation.

The Pools Responsible Gaming

We applaud The Pools' approach to Responsible Gaming. It forms part of your everyday operation on the site - featuring during account creation and within the banking processes - without distracting from the general user experience.

As for the dedicated Responsible Gaming section, it is positioned prominently within the main menu, not buried in a site footer, which can be the case for a lot of operators.

When you get into the Responsible Gaming page, it is just a long text page. We are not a huge fan of this approach, as a general rule, but The Pools have at least kept each section of the page clearly defined courtesy of well-structured text. That means it is still relatively easy to find the information you want.

The tools on offer to support gamblers are:

  • Deposit Limits
  • Spend Limits
  • Reality Check
  • Time Out
  • Self-Exclusion

Alongside offering support tools on its own site, The Pools also extends its Responsible Gaming approach to actively promoting external services.
